On Monday Trump said, 'I think it's time for somebody else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine.' The same day Zelenskyy said Russia's latest attacks killed six people.

The warning period has ended and a speeding ticket is now $145. The city caps tickets at 100 per camera per day, chosen at random from the speeders, with more serious speeders more likely to be picked.

The Mercer Island Reporter says the QFC store at the south end of the island (8421 SE 68th St) is adding a pharmacy that opens Oct. 21. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 9 to 6 Saturday and 11 to 6 Sunday. It will fill and refill prescriptions, give flu shots and other vaccines, and offer medication therapy management and health consultations; QFC says most vaccines need no appointment.

Seattle council votes today on RV parking rules
西雅图不少人住在房车里，常年停在街边；市议会今天表决一揽子法案，符合条件的房车住户可申请免费许可，在指定工业区过夜停车，但要接受帮扶服务、每72小时挪一次车，没有许可的房车在街上只能停两小时，可能不经通知被拖走。街边常停着房车的社区，今后可能看到变化。据MyNorthwest报道，市里第一个房车安全停车场预计11月中开放，可停72辆。
Many people in Seattle live in RVs parked on the street; the City Council votes today on a package under which eligible RV residents could get free permits to park overnight in designated industrial areas, provided they engage with services and move every 72 hours, while RVs without permits could park only two hours and be towed without notice. Neighborhoods with RVs on the curb may see changes. MyNorthwest reports the city's first RV safe lot is expected to open in mid-November with room for 72 RVs.

Renton senior center reopening stalls awaiting a federal waiver
伦顿(Renton)的唐·珀森长者活动中心(Don Persson Renton Senior Activity Center)正在改造，预计2027年2月完工，但市里要等联邦住房与城市发展部批准一项豁免，才能在空调系统里用外国零件。原因是工程用了联邦救助款，按2021年的《购买美国货法》，钢铁、建材和制成品都得是美国造，而部分空调零件没有美国货。中心4月15号起关闭，改造期间长者活动、午餐和送餐上门(Meals on Wheels)项目暂时搬到伦顿社区中心(Renton Community Center)照常进行。
Renton's Don Persson Senior Activity Center is being renovated, with completion expected in February 2027, but the city must wait for HUD to approve a waiver to use foreign components in the HVAC system. Because the work uses federal relief money, the 2021 Build America, Buy America Act requires US-made iron, steel, materials and products, and some HVAC parts are not made in the US. The center closed April 15; during the work, senior programs, the lunch program and Meals on Wheels have moved to the Renton Community Center.

美国文化一则American Customs
在美国，药房常开在超市和连锁药店里，药剂师不光配药，还能直接给人打流感疫苗等常见疫苗，很多不需要预约，走进去就能打。默瑟岛南端QFC新开的药房就是这样，大多数疫苗不用约。
In the US, pharmacies are often inside supermarkets and chain drugstores, and pharmacists do more than fill prescriptions: they give flu shots and other common vaccines directly, often with no appointment. The new pharmacy at the south Mercer Island QFC works this way, with most vaccines available without booking.
美国看医生要预约、排期长，把打疫苗、续药这类简单的事交给社区药房，医生能腾出手看病，病人也省一趟。超市愿意开药房，是因为来取药的人顺便买菜，药房成了留住老顾客的办法。
Doctor visits in the US need appointments and can be weeks out, so routine tasks like vaccines and refills go to neighborhood pharmacies, freeing doctors and saving patients a trip. Supermarkets like having pharmacies because people picking up medicine also buy groceries, so the pharmacy keeps regular customers coming back.
老家街口的药铺，掌柜认得街坊，谁家老人吃什么药心里有数。美国超市里的药剂师，做的其实是同一件事：常去同一家，药剂师就记得您的药单，有什么不对劲能提醒您。
The old corner apothecary back home knew its neighbors and which elder took what medicine. The pharmacist in an American supermarket does the same job: go to the same one regularly and the pharmacist knows your list and can flag anything that looks wrong.
