Police collected 50 rifle and handgun shell casings. Two adult men who had been shot went to Harborview Medical Center on their own and were in satisfactory condition by midday. Officers found a rifle in a vehicle and arrested a juvenile on assault charges, booking them into the youth justice center.

A 1976 Piper Cub left Penticton, B.C., on Saturday evening, Oct. 10, bound for Idaho, and lost contact with air traffic control over Okanogan County in northeastern Washington; the pilot's daughter reported it missing to the sheriff's office. After a day of searching, WSDOT air search and rescue teams found the wreckage in a valley near Tonasket on the afternoon of Oct. 11; the 61-year-old pilot and a passenger had died. Anyone who flies or rides in a small private plane should tell family the route and expected arrival time, so a missed arrival can be reported quickly.

美国文化一则American Customs
10月的第二个星期一是美国的联邦假日哥伦布日，纪念1492年哥伦布的船队看到美洲的陆地。不少城市和学校在同一天改过「原住民日」，纪念哥伦布到来之前就住在这片土地上的人。邮局这一天不送信。
The second Monday of October is Columbus Day, a federal holiday marking the day in 1492 when Columbus's ships sighted land in the Americas. Many cities and schools mark the same day as Indigenous Peoples' Day instead, honoring the people who lived here before Columbus arrived. The post office does not deliver mail that day.
同一个日子两个名字，背后是看历史的角度不同：一边记的是航海发现，一边记的是原住民因此失去家园。美国的做法不是吵出个输赢，而是允许各地自己选，各过各的。
